About Us

The MATH ADVENTURE LAND DRESDEN is the result of a cooperation between the Dresden Technical Collections and the Faculty of Mathematics at TU Dresden. This cooperation began in 2008 and has continued ever since. The scientific directors are the mathematics professors Prof. Dr Andrea Hoffkamp, Prof. Dr Andreas Thom and Prof. Dr Bernhard Ganter, and the head of department from the Dresden Technical Collections is Mag. Holger Seifert.

THE HISTORY

Inspired by the Mathematikum in Gießen, set up and run by Prof. Dr Beutelspacher, a completely independent concept of “mathematics to touch” was realised in the Dresden Technical Collections – developed by the scientific directors – in cooperation with the Faculty of Mathematics. The development of the Maths Adventure Land was made possible by considerable financial support from the Saxon State Ministry of Education and Cultural Affairs in 2008-11.

SPONSORS OF THE MATHS ADVENTURE LAND

The Maths Adventure Land Dresden could only come into being and can only continue to exist thanks to the financial, idealistic, energetic and also critical help of many people and institutions. It continues to rely on your donations and support, you can find out more under the heading Support Association.
