Tips for the visit

Booking

  • Groups of ten or more, especially school classes, are strongly advised to book beforehand. Booked groups have priority.
  • You can do this by phone (0351 – 488 7272), by fax (0351 – 488 7263) or by email (service@museen-dresden.de). Your registration will be confirmed by us and is only then effective.
  • For a group, we envisage a maximum visit duration of two hours. Please ensure that the agreed time is adhered to so that subsequent groups can also make good use of the Adventure Land.
  • The admission ticket also entitles the holder to visit other exhibitions in the house.

Procedure for the visit of a class

  • Please check in at the counter. There is a cloakroom nearby where jackets and backpacks must be stowed and locked away.
  • The Maths Adventure Land is located on the 4th floor of the Technical Collections. You can reach it via the staircase, which also has a small lift. The building is handicapped accessible up to the 6th floor.
  • The group gathers in the plenary, a blue seating circle directly behind the entrance door to the Maths Adventure Land. There you will be welcomed by one of our counsellors.
  • The supervisor then conducts one or more of the experiments in the Adventure Land with the pupils. This should make it clear how to deal with the exhibits and what the experience might be.
  • Afterwards, the pupils have time to explore the exhibits of the Adventure Land on their own. You can speak to the supervisors at any time.
  • It is advisable to point them to exhibits with which they should engage more intensively. The plenary provides a place for group information.

Notes on behaviour

  • The Maths Adventure Land offers “mathematics you can touch”, you can try out, play and thus grasp the phenomena.
  • The experiments in the Maths Adventure Land are stimulating and get visitors moving both inside and out. Please make sure that your students do not run around, climb or make a racket.
  • Do not leave the pupils alone. The constant presence of supervising adults is essential. Make sure that your pupils handle the exhibits carefully.
  • Food and drinks are not allowed in the Maths Adventure Land.
  • The complete visitor regulations are available for inspection at the ticket office.

Preparing for your visit
